- "Have no fear, Vlad is here."
- ―Vlad's catchphrase[src]
Vlad Sorokin was a member of Igor Ledov's valiant partisan squad. He is introduced as a supporting character in Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.
Biography[]
Vlad was a man with an unknown background, and very little information is known about him. It is not known where he came from, although based on his accent, he was likely from Russia or Eastern Europe.
During the Mental War, Vlad apparantly appeared as if out of nowhere and approached Ledov's Squad with a bag full of weapons, and said to them only; "I will join you". Ledov, confused, had no choice but to accept him. In time, Vlad became one of the most respected and trusted partisans in the squad.[1]
Appearances[]
Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem[]
Vlad is introduced by Ledov to Sam as one of the members of his squad. He assists Sam and the others as they fight their way to the trainyard. Ledov and his squad plan to acquire a locomotive which they can use to get to Ustinov, a town not far from the enemy portal in Tunguska.[2]
Relationships[]
Igor Ledov[]
Ledov was someone Vlad could trust, seeing as he was a man of true inspiration to those who wanted to fight and rise up against Mental.
Natasha Maksimova[]
Another of Vlad's friends who was also a trusted and reliable member of Ledov's Squad.
Ivan Pakhomov[]
Ivan was one of Vlad's comrades and friends. Not much else was known about them as they saw little interaction with one another.
Sam Stone[]
He respected Stone and helped to assist him getting to the trainyard as well as into Ustinov.
Personality and skills[]
Vlad was a true professional, although his precise origins and the exact nature of his training remained unclear. His first meeting with Ledov was indicative of his mysterious character. Vlad had a very calm and quiet demeanor, even whenever a firefight broke out. Vlad rarely spoke, and whenever he did, his sentences were short and brief. This trait was also shared with Jones.
Powers and abilities[]
- Combat Experience: Vlad was one of the most trained partisans in Ledov's Squad, and was well disciplined and trained. All this, along with a lack of personal information, indicates that Vlad may have been a former military officer - or a professional criminal.[1] He had also fought in many battles alongside his friends Ledov, Natasha, and Ivan.
- Weapon Proficiency: He was exceptional regarding the use of firearms, especially with his signature weapon, the coach gun.
Appearance[]
Vlad was a young man of Russian or Eastern European descent in his early to mid twenties or early to mid thirties. He was bald, clean shaven and had blue eyes. He wore a jacket and pants with a white and black camo pattern, a flak jacket, knee pads, and black combat boots. On his pants, he wore a gun holster.
His weapons of choice were the AK-74MX and Double Barrel Coach Gun. He preferred to use the latter weapon in combat.
Behind the scenes[]
- "Vlad" is a shortened version of Vladimir, a male given name of Slavic origin. The name has many meanings, such as "of great power".
Trivia[]
- He can be chosen as a player model in the multiplayer settings.
- He is one of the few characters in the series using the double barrel coach gun, a weapon that Sam normally uses.
