"Vive la Résistance" is the eleventh level of Serious Sam 4.
Plot[]
Following the loss of Kenny at the hands of Lord Achriman, Sam meets up with Sayid, a member of the French Resistance. He introduces Sam to Michelle, the leader of the French Resistance cell in Carcassonne. In the bar, Michelle plans to lead the resistance and escort Sam across town so they can meet up with their informant, who knows a way of getting into the castle, which is where the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant are located.
Data[]
The French Resistance has an informant in Mental's Horde! Join up with Sayid and Michelle, meet the informant, and continue towards the castle.
Side objectives[]
"The Art of War"[]
Progress normally through the canal with Michelle and Sayid until reaching a split. Along the way, Sam learns from Michelle that Mental's forces are burning valuable items, and the object they need to save is a painting, "the Sinful Virgin" by Van Klogh. After finishing the side objective, prepare for some heavy fighting which involves hordes of enemies. Completing this side objective will reward the player with the Autoshotgun, which is given to Sam by Sayid.
"Let's Workshop This"[]
Part way through the level, Michelle will inform Sam of an abandoned workshop nearby. Follow the blue waypoint marker to start the side quest, but prepare for some heavy fighting. Completing the side quest will reward the player with a Holodecoy.
S.A.M. locations[]
- At an Earth Defense Force outpost outside the industrial estate.
Secrets[]
- From the beginning of the level, there is a L.I.F.E. gadget behind a dumpster to your right.
- Once in the canal, follow the first side quest until you get to the remains of the church. Scale up the building to get a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Resume tracking of the main objective, but do not leave the canal immediately. Follow it to the end to find a health bottle that will activate a secret "spider trap" and spawn hundreds of Zubenhakrabian Spider Nymphs. Like the Beheaded Kamikaze secrets in "Gates of Hell" and "When in Rome", the Nymphs will drop a pill bottle when they are killed.
- When you reach the industrial area filled with Minor Bio-mechanoids, go to the open warehouse. Climb up the debris to find a Time Warp gadget.
- In the second warehouse, you will see a flashing purple object on top of a pile of wooden crates. To get there, jump to the palette on the right. Jump on the shelves, and then step on the wooden beam to get a Psychotropic Grenade.
- Exit the warehouse, go to the right and go through the trees to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Close to the previous secret, pass between the wall and the container to get a Hacked Drone.
- Cross the bush between the prefabricated building and the shed to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- To the left of the exit, there is a H.E.A.R.T. gadget on top of a green container. Use the wrecked car there to climb up onto the prefabricated building to reach the container.
- When you pass through the metal door, go to the left and search behind the bush. In there is a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Keep going until you get to a truck with a trailer attached to it. Go behind the truck on the right to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- When you reach the street, go to the left and behind the dumpster to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Follow the path to the second side quest and you'll come across some containers. There is a gadget behind the containers.
- Continue through the street until you reach a platform of wooden planks. There is a glowing lantern on the opposite side of the planks. Shoot the lantern to spawn a Companion Orb.
- Just before finishing the level, jump on the vents to reach a hacked drone on the roof.
