Vesuvius is the fifteenth level of Serious Sam: Double D, and the eighteenth level of Serious Sam: Double D: XXL.

Plot

While Mount Vesuvius continues to erupt, Sam takes decides to take shelter in the volcano itself, despite seeming like the least safe place to hide. Inside the volcano is lots of scaffolding and some tough troops that await Sam as he goes deeper into the volcano, indicating that Mental is using the volcano for something.

Secrets

1. As soon as you overcome a small abyss with lava, climb the scaffolding to the very top, and from there head to the left. There is a Gunstack Connector there.
2. When you come across some scaffolding for the second time, go up, and then go left. There, jump on the back of the Minor Bio-mechanoid, jump to another series of platforms, which will lead you to an invisible passage in the wall where you can find a secret "Fishing Phoenix".
3. After returning from the second secret, keep going on the platforms to the right where there are more Bio-mechanoids. There, with the help of a Bio-mechanoid, jump to get the secret Insane-brand Chainsaw there. In XXl, this secret can also be reached if you have the Air Buffer upgrade.
4. When you pass the bridge that will lead from the arena with secrets 2 and 3 to another, you should notice missiles under it. Go down the platforms with ammunition, and you will find a secret LM32 Rocket Launcher.
