The Torcher Kitty is an enemy exclusive to Serious Sam: Double D: XXL.
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Torcher Kitty is a kitten's upper torso surgically fastened to the top of a bottle of green liquid. It is equipped with three thrusters; two where its lower half should be and one on the bottom of its bottle, which allows it to fly.
Occurrence[edit | edit source]
The Torcher Kitty is a rare enemy in the game, only appearing in Jurassic Reckoning and Carrion Caverns. They usually appear in groups.
Behavior and skils[edit | edit source]
The Torcher Kitty’s only attack is to fire a fireball from its mouth. These fireballs behave similar to Chimputee grenades, although they cannot be destroyed. The Torcher Kitty usually tries to keep a distance from the player.
They are relatively fast, which can make it difficult to hit it with non insta-hit weapons. When killed, the Torcher Kitty's jetpack will begin to malfunction and explode, killing it and damaging someone near the explosion.
Tactics[edit | edit source]
- The 12 Gauge Shotgun and Thompson submachine gun are good weapons to use against the Torcher Kitty. The Thompson's rapid-fire always puts the Torcher Kitty in its pain state, making it harmless, while the shotgun's tight spread allows it to do major damage against the Kitty.
- Multiple Kitties can be taken down with a gunstack of rapid-fire weapons. Explosive weapons like the LM32 Rocket Launcher and MadDog Grenade Launcher can be used against them, provided that the player is good enough to intercept their movement.
- When paired with other enemies, the Torcher Kitty is a medium-priority threat. Its fireballs are relatively easy to dodge, but the extra projectiles can make it difficult to dodge other enemy attacks. Therefore, the player should kill it whenever they have a chance to do so. They usually get killed between the player and other enemies, so focusing on them to kill them isn’t needed all the time.
