"The Steam Tower" is the thirty-first level of Serious Sam: Next Encounter.

• Description

The information I have collated so far describes this structure as a huge harvester for the energy of the thermal vent. It channels all this steam into the caverns below via a complex series of vents and pipes. Steam seems to have a very important role in Atlantis with an almost religious reverence placed upon it, often referred to in their hieroglyphs as 'The breath of the Gods'.

We should enter Atlantis as soon as possible as all hypotheses I produce lead to Atlantis holding the root of our problems.

The quickest way seems to climb the tower and then jump into the steam shaft. Sounds risky, but I think you'll survive.

To climb try opening the valves you'll see on the floor. These should allow you to ride the steam pipes up the outside of the tower and see you to the top.

Secrets

1. As soon as you appear on the level, turn back and carefully approach the edge of the platform. There is a platform at the bottom, jumping onto which you activate to climb up. Here you will see a secret room with quite useful bonuses and 5 treasure artifacts (2000 points each).

Treasure

1. When you step out into the open, there will be a treasure artifact under the stairs below you (2000 points).
2. Go behind the building you need to enter next, there will be 3 treasure artifacts (2000 points each).
3. There will be a treasure artifact in the middle of the branched staircase (2000 points).
