Sam now continues his journey to make contact with the remnants of the Earth Defense Force. Along the way, he comes across a dead EDF soldier and uses his earpiece to contact headquarters. Instead of getting a response from Quinn like he usually does, Hellfire answers instead, who is amazed to hear that Sam is still alive. Hearing explosions and gunfire, Sam asks what's happening over there.
Hellfire informs Sam that HQ has come under attack by Mental's forces, and have managed to successfully penetrate their defenses via ambush. She reports to Sam that Quinn is dead and Charlie Team, the squad of soldiers meant to extract Sam to the Time-Lock, is out of commission. She states that neither herself nor the EDF will last much longer at this point. Hellfire tells Sam to find hold up for long as he can and if anyone survives, they will find him. However, this is cut short when a Gnaar suddenly appears and kills her.
With the EDF effectively wiped out and the rest of humanity gone, Sam must now proceed to the Time-Lock and continue the mission on his own.
Hieroglyphic tablets[]
There are three tablets that can be found in this level.
Just after exiting the underground tomb and seeing the cinematic. There is a large monument ahead with a gate at its base. The tablet is lying on the ground next to the gate. When translated, it reads: "There is one that sees what no man sees; Knows what no man knows. One that commands all doors, one that commands all Boats. It is the Oracle.
By the large structure with a reflecting pool. The tablet is leaning against the back wall of the pool. When translated, it reads: "Osiris said to his sons: You shall rule the realm of men. You shall wield the light of Ra. But you shall not wake the Boat of Millions of Years".
Just after the reflecting pool you will enter a corridor with pillars on the left hand side. The tablet is located against the wall behind the pillars. When translated, it reads: "The Oracle saw the foes of Osiris across the sea of stars. Thus, Osiris climbed the Boat of Sun".
After the section with 2 Witch-Brides, there is an area with a locked gate that requires a key. The final tablet is just to the right of the gate. When translated, it reads: "Then, Osiris sailed out across the sea of stars. But he never returned".
This is the last tablet to be found in the game. If the player has managed to translate all the tablets in the campaign, they will earn the "Master Egyptologist" achievement.
Graffiti[]
By the tree in the middle of the slum. When translated, it reads: "Who the fuck is Alice?".
On the house behind secret #10 and diagonally right from the rocket ammo crate and the car. When translated, it reads: Khnums have no balls".
Secrets[]
When the boulder crashes down the tunnel ramp, on the left in a small hole behind where the boulder was is some minigun bullets.
Once you get outside where you find the dead soldier, after the cutscene, go left, in the corner there is a Small Armor behind the portable.
Before you walk through one of the two open gate doors in front of the second open gated door, there is a hollow small stone tower. You can jump into it from the broken wall that's right next to it if it wasn't destroyed during the fight, where you can find an XL2 Lasergun.
Right next to the portable where you pick up the Ramesseum exit key is a small building. Inside that building, walk up to the wall and look up through the hole. Shoot the box to get a RAPTOR Sniper Rifle.
When you walk through the gates into the final area of the map, the city, you'll see a road just a few meters ahead of you. Follow that road to the right and through the opening in wall. Continue a few meters outside and on the first elevation in the sand, turn left to find seven C-4 Demolition Charges. In the Serious Sam Fusion version, this is replaced with rockets and Devastator shells.
In the near-left part of the slums outside the wall to the left is a Large Armor.
In the near-right area of the slums, there's a two-story red building in this area. On a balcony is a magazine clip. Climb up the wall, then jump up to grab a clip of sniper bullets.
In the near-right slum area there's a two-story red building in this area. Tucked against the wall surrounding it is a Large Health (i.e. right under secret #7).
Mid-right part of the slum is a walled off area (made of corrugated metal sheets) with some boxes stacked against it. Climb over to get some electricity.
A building on the last row has some electricity on top of it. Jump on one of the two crates (unless destroyed) and then up. Note that if the crates are destroyed, get a Sirian Werebull to chase you over to the building and allow it to ram you so you might get thrown onto the building where the ammo is.
There's a ruined wall with some palm trees around it in the desert. Go behind the wall to find some minigun bullets.

Trivia[]
When Sam is having a conversation with a Gnaar during the cutscene, the Moon can be seen in the background, foreshadowing the event that is yet to come when the Gnaar says that Mental will "moon" him.
There is a way to break out of the map in this level; on the near-left side of the slum is a ruined wall just before a barrier into the desert. The player can climb up onto the wall, take a running leap to the ruined barrier, and get up onto the wall. Unfortunately, invisible walls prevent too much travel.
During the cutscene, Sam is seen wearing his usual shoes. This occurs even if the player has found Sam's classic outfit in "Summer in Cairo".
Since the previous level in set in the Nubian Desert, it shouldn't be possible for Sam to make it to Ramesseum just by navigating through some tombs, as it is at least 400 km (248.5 miles) away from the Egyptian border.
