The Grand Cathedral is the twelfth level of Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter and Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter, the twenty-sixth level of Serious Sam Classics: Revolution, and the twenty-seventh level of Serious Sam: Xbox. It also serves as the final levels of the aforementioned titles.

Plot

The Holy Grail was not in the Ice Castle, but instead was hidden away inside the Church of Sacred Blood by the Arc-Al-Magi after their villages were attacked by Mental's forces. As Mental could not tamper with the Grail, he had it guarded by an evil sorcerer. With help from NETRICSA. Sam is able to find the church, but must first pass through the "Corridor of Death", which owes up to its name.

Secrets

1. From your starting position, turn right and blast a darker-colored section on the wall to reveal an Extra Large Health and Serious Damage.
2. At the end of the second corridor, you can see Groovy Gregory hanging out from one of the windows of a tower. Shoot him to spawn a serious damage power-up.
3. In the middle of the third corridor, on the wall at the left, shoot a darker colored section of it to reveal a teleport to a secret pumpkin field. Watch out for Static Cannons placed there, and do not move out of the path, unless you want to spawn some extremely small Cucurbitos.
4. (Serious Sam HD only) in the fifth corridor, on the right wall where Beheaded Kamikazes spawn, at the base of a pillar is a darker colored section. Shoot it with any weapon to reveal some secret items.
5. In the sixth corridor, on the right side of the wall is another darker section. Blast it to reveal a teleport to an embryo museum. Picking up any of the items there will spawn a pair of Highlander Aludran Reptiloids: one on the left and one on the right.
6. At the end of the sixth corridor and at the start of the seventh and final one, at the tower on the left there is a Scythian Witch-Harpy mooning at the player from a window. Shoot her with the sniper rifle or a rocket to spawn an Invulnerability power-up.
7. During the fight with Mordekai, after approximately 85-90 seconds, a message will appear saying "Pink secret has been enabled!", and a small section of the wall on the right will open up. Pick up the health there to register the secret.

Trivia

• In the embryo museum, there are two clones of Ugh-Zan III inside large tubes filled with green liquid. In the middle of the room is a question mark twice their size with horns and four arms.
• A rearranged version of this level's music is used in the final level of Serious Sam 4, From Earth With Love.
• The leitmotif from this level's music was reused for the main menu theme of Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.
