"The Geothermal Tunnels" is the thirty-fourth level of Serious Sam: Next Encounter. This is the only level that the Serious Submarine appears in. If the submarine is destroyed, the level ends instantly and regardless of how far the player has progressed.
Plot[]
Now in some geothermal tunnels, which receive power from the island's volcanoes, Sam Stone needs to use them to travese through the pipe network and reach the Guardian Gates, his next destination.

These pipes and tunnels help conduct the warm currents from the local volcanic activity around Atlantis. They also provide a useful transport network for the aquatic Atlanteans. Your Serious Submarine should protect you from the harmful elements in the waters and is also equipped for combat manoeuvres. However, the monsters who inhabit these waters will still be able to out-swim your craft so be quick to shoot. Our aim is to emerge at the Guardian Gates that open into the Royal chambers of Atlantis, as my readings have shown large energy spikes within the Atlantean Throne Room that we should investigate.
Treasure[]
- Hidden place: Before the closed entrance to the second area where the Reeban Tooth Fish appear, destroy the wall to your left. Swim through the tunnel, destroy the second wall. There will be a large empty room with a very huge chest of gold, which contained 3 treasure artifacts (10,000 points each).
- 45 treasure artifacts around the first area (1000 points each).
- 36 treasure artifacts around the second area (1000 points each).
- 30 treasure artifacts in the last tunnel (1000 points each).
