The Tentacle is an enemy that appears in Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope.

Overview

The Tentacle is a pink and green tentacle belonging to an unknown creature.

Behavior and skills

When someone gets too close to the the Tentacle, it will emerge from the water and attack them. Tentacles can vary in between sizes. If a Tentacle is large, it can still attack and hit the player even if they are a bit far away from it. After it attacks the target for a while and if it sill isn't killed, the Tentacle will enter the water and will not appear again.

Appearances

Tentacles only appear in The Old Forest and The Lost Valley. They usually appear in groups.

Tactics

• The Double Barrel Coach Gun is an effective weapon against a single Tentacle, as 2 hits from the weapon can kill it, and it has a somewhat fast rate of fire. It is even more effective in arena modes, as the weapon can kill the Tentacle with one hit.
• The Laser Sword, XL2 Lasergun and XM214-A Minigun are effective weapons against groups of Tentacles. The lasergun and minigun can quickly kill one of them at a time, while the laser sword can kil lmultiple Tentacles at once.
• Tentacles are medium-high priority targets when paired with other enemies, as they can deal a lot of damage while the player tries to attack the enemies.
• Tentacles should be one of the first enemies killed when they appear with other ones.

Trivia

• In earlier versions of the game, Tentacles die normally by sinking back when killed, though this was later changed to always being gibbed in later versions. The death animation can still be found in the game files.
