Overview[]
Sunglasses are a power-up that act the same as the Extra Life power-up from other games. Like the extra life, sunglasses allow the player to respawn at the latest checkpoint they reached in a level.
The player spawns with a certain amount of sunglasses at the start of each level. The amount of sunglasses the player has at the start of a level depends on the difficulty level. On Easy, the player spawns with four sunglasses. On Normal, they spawn with three sunglasses. On Hard, the player spawns with only one sunglasses, while on Serious, they will not have any Sunglasses at the start of a level.
If the player buys the Live to Fight Another Day upgrade, they will receive another single pair of sunglasses on the start of each level.
Tactics[]
- Like the extra life, sunglasses are important, as the game has a limited life system and only has manual saves. Having a good number of sunglasses allows the player beat harder battles easier.
- The Live to Fight Another Day upgrade is especially useful on Serious difficulty, as the player will not have any sunglasses at the start of a level. Buying the upgrade increases the chance of beating the level.
- If the player buys the Live to Fight Another Day upgrade on a survival level, they can respawn to continue playing one more time, which can be useful for going through further waves.

- The sunglasses' texture resembles the shades Sam wears in Serious Sam 3: BFE.
