Stars are collectible items that are featured in Serious Sam's Bogus Detour.
Overview[]
Stars are useful items which can be used for purchasing upgrades. They are often found in secrets or other hidden places, such as minefields. The player also receives a certain amount of Stars when they level up, 4 stars on Easy difficulty, and 3 stars on other difficulties.
If the player plays the game on the Boguelike gamemode or enables the random upgrade for leveling up switch, stars are replaced with Ranks, since the player can't purchase an upgrade by themselves.
Some Stars do not always spawn in the same area, and as a result their spawns are usually random. Fixed Stars, which are found in secrets, will always spawn in the same places.
Tactics[]
- Try to search for as many Stars as possible throughout a level. That way, you can buy multiple perks or save them for a more useful perk to use later on.
- Clear out or avoid any mines before searching for Stars in minefields.
- On Serious difficulty, since the amount of stars required to purchase upgrades are increased, the player should more carefully select which upgrade they want to buy.
