The Snacker is an enemy that appears in Serious Sam: Tormental.
Overview[]
The Snacker is a pink fish-based schema that possesses many rows of sharp teeth. Seemingly identical in function to the Reeban Tooth Fish, these creatures provide insight as to an evolutionary path Mental may want to explore with the species. While they are unable to do much on solid ground at this stage of thought, an army of Reeban Electro-Fish capable of chasing their prey onto land is a discerning thought.[1]
Appearances[]
Snackers only appear in water in "Sea of Thoughts". They are not as common as other enemies encountered in the level.
Behavior and skills[]
Snackers are very fast, and can bolt through the water at incredible speeds to deliver a powerful bite to the player with their enlarged jaws. Their speed can surprise even an experienced player. This trait, along with the damage their bite deals, can make this particular kind of enemy very dangerous.
The Snacker's physical make-up allows them to walk on land if they dash out of the water. However, this leaves them defenseless while they are in this state. Once they are on land, they will search for another body of water to reside in.
Tactics[]
- One should be careful if Snackers are seen with other submersible enemies, as their lightning speed can catch the player off guard if they lose focus.
- The Gun (especially with the rapid-fire or burstenize upgrade(s)) is very useful for quickly taking out Snackers. Serious Weapons such as the Bouncer and Machinegun are also effective weapons.
- When possible, the player make use of the underwater mines in the water to electrocute Snackers. That way, the player minimizes their chances of being attacked by them.
- When mixed with other enemies, Snackers are a medium or high-priority threat, and should be targeted first.
