Small Armor (Ancient Helmet in Serious Sam: Double D) is an item that gives the player a small amount of armor points when picked up.
Overview[]
Small armor is a relatively weak item that gives the player 5-10 armor points when picked up, depending on the game that is being played on. In all of the games it appears in, it will not go past the default maximum armor limit (100 in all other games, 200 in Serious Sam 2). It seems to give the player some armor points so that they can get to the 100 armor point limit without picking up a stronger set of armor. This can be useful if the player has a large amount of armor points and doesn't want to use up a larger set of armor in order to get to the 100 armor points cap.
Appearances[]
Small armor is a rather common armor pickup. However, in Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, it is extremely rare and only appears on one level in the game, the "The Elephant Atrium". It is much more commonly found in the Legend of the Beast expansion pack, where it is the most commonly occurring armor pickup.
In other games, small armor occurs more frequently. Like other armor pickups, small armor is often found in secrets.

- The model of this item varies between games:
- In Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter and Serious Sam: Double D, it is an orange medieval-style helmet.
- In Serious Sam 2, it is a shield with a yellow and blue checkered pattern.
- In Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam 4, it is a modern combat helmet with goggles.
- In Serious Sam's Bogus Detour, it uses Serious Sam: The Second Encounter's Extra Small Armor texture.
- The Serious Sam 3 version of small armor is modeled after a variant of the Advanced Combat Helmet, a combat helmet used by the United States Army.
