"Showdown at the Arena" is the eighteenth level of Serious Sam: Next Encounter, and the final level set in the ancient Rome era.

Plot

Now that Sam is equipped with heavy weapons this time, he is ready to face the disturbance behind the Time-Lock in the Colosseum. He must now prepare for a big fight consisting of both Mental's forces and an abomination modified by Mental himself.

We're back, Sam. The disturbance we sensed is here.

We pulled you out last time because we weren't ready, but you're tooled up now. My sensors reveal a concentration of enemy forces, but there's something else that is causing my sensors to go off the scale. No matter, tonight's the night that we introduce a few new tricks to the art of Gladiatorial combat; modern weaponry and the Serious style.
