"Woohoo, Serious Speed!"
Sam Stone[src]

Serious Speed is a power-up that appears in the Serious Sam series. When picked up, it drastically increases the player's movement speed.

Overview[edit | edit source]

In all games it appears in, serious speed is a pair of red sneaks with large red, yellow and black wings on it. When picked up, it greatly increases the player's speed for 20 seconds in Serious Sam: The Second Encounter and 25 seconds in Serious Sam 2.

Occurence[edit | edit source]

In Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, Serious Sam: Xbox, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, Serious Sam VR: The Second Encounter and Serious Sam Classics: Revolution, serious speed first appears in Sierra de Chiapas, after the player first obtains the RAPTOR Sniper Rifle and when the large wooden gate opens. In further levels, it often appears in secrets. In Serious Sam 2, it is found in objects like crates and lightposts.

Tactics[edit | edit source]

  • Serious speed can let the player circle strafe enemies while attacking them. This lets the player easily avoid attacks and constantly harm enemies. However, when the player hears a beep, they should make sure that they're in a safe location before its power runs out. Otherwise, the player might end up in a bad position when it runs out.
  • In Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, make sure to preserve serious speed for the Highlander and Major Mechanoid. The player should also use it when they are close to death and enemies are about to impact with them, or if there are too many projectiles.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Serious speed is the shortest lasting power-up in the series.
