Sayid Lécuyer

Sayid Lécuyer is a member of the French Resistance cell in Carcassonne, where he serves as Michelle's second in command and is one of her fellow comrades. He is introduced as a minor supporting character in Serious Sam 4.

Biography[]

Sayid was born in Laghouat, Algeria, on July 19, 2070. Although he was born on Earth, he spent his formative years living in the off-world colonies.^[1] His mother was an aerospace engineer specializing in zero-gravity construction, and he inherited a love of outer space that led him to become a transport pilot based out of New Marrakesh, an off-world colony. Sometime before Mental's attack, he became an accomplished Jazz trumpeter.^[1]

After Mental's first attacks on the colony, he partially founded the New Marrakesh Militia. He fought in multiple battles during the Mental War, including the Battle of Alpha Centauri, the Battle of the Binary Stars, and the Second Battle of Toulouse. When the war in the colonies was lost, he returned to Earth to keep fighting and eventually found his way into the French Resistance, where he met Michelle.^[1]

Serious Sam 4[]

Sayid meets Sam — Sayid introduces himself to Sam.

After Sam makes it to Carcassonne, Sayid is the first resistance member to meet up with him.^[2] He tags along with Michelle, Sam, and minor resistance members as they fight through the Carcassonne. They end up at a manhole and Michelle tells Sam that the place where they will be meeting their informant is in the underground tunnels below. When they get down there, Sam sees an Adult Arachnoid walking towards him and aims his gun at him, Michelle quickly intervenes and tells him that the Arachnoid, Charlie, is their informant, much to Sam's surprise.^[3]

Once they get to the castle, several Octanian Raiders appear and attack them, Charlie shoots one of them down, but inadvertently ends up destroying the bridge, separating Sam from her and the others. Sam insists they come with him, but Michelle refuses and tells him to go into the castle on his own while they hold off Mental's forces off as much as they can.^[3] At this point, Sayid, Charlie and Michelle are not seen for the remainder of the game.

Michelle Djabali[]

Serving as her right-hand man, Sayid is a loyal friend and a fellow member to Michelle. He helps her lead the fight against Mental's armies in their town.

Sam Stone[]

Sayid respects Sam, and was impressed with his proficient usage of weapons. He expressed his sympathy to Sam after Lord Achriman killed one of Sam's friends, Kenny. Sayid stated to him that he had experienced similar losses to Achriman as well.^[3]

On several occasions, Sayid attempted to impress Sam with the wide variety of aliens and monsters that the French Resistance have encountered in Carcassonne. This failed of course, seeing that Sam has seen many strange and hideous creatures during his time serving in the EDF. Michelle even commented to Sayid that it would never work when it came to surprising him.^[3]

Charlie[]

Serving as the French Resistance's informant, Charlie helped to relay vital information to him and the rest of the French Resistance, as well as helping to lend her assistance to them while they fought onwards towards the castle.^[3]

Personality[]

Sayid has an outgoing personality, and is a proud member of the French Resistance. He was not hesistant to help Sam on his mission with finding the Holy Grail and showing him his way to the castle.

Powers and abilities[]

Combat Skills and Experience: Sayid is capable of piloting a spacecraft and had much experience in the Mental War, both on Earth and in the colonies. He also takes initiative, forming a militia on New Marrakesh. Despite his battle experience, it is unknown whether he was a part of any organized army, as he preferred to fight in militias.
