Sacred Dungeons is the fifth level of Serious Sam: The Random Encounter.

Plot[]

Deeper within the temple, the three heroes cannot proceed further until they find a way to open a gate in the water. Upon noticing a counter on the wall, it appears that they need to kill a certain number of enemies to pass. Luckily, a nearby room is filled to the brim with Marsh Hoppers.

There are no secrets in this level.

Tactics[]

  • The Marsh Hopper horde may seem intimidating, but they have one glaring weakness: they only hop forwards and don't actually target the heroes. Weapons like the Minigun or the XL2 Lasergun can be used clear out lanes for the heroes to safely walk in, but keep in mind that more Marsh Hoppers will spawn once a certain threshold is reached.
  • The chest behind the teleporter holds a Serious Bomb, which will definitely come in handy later on in the game. Simply walk back onto the second teleporter in the Marsh Hopper room to access it.
  • The invisible Gnaars that appear from this level onwards cannot be targeted by weapons like the Shotgun. If you see them in the horde, use a different weapon that requires manual aiming.
  • The boulder that appears when trying to go for the chest in the middle cannot actual harm the player. Said chest contains a sniper rifle.
