Ranks, or Experience, are collectible items that appear in Serious Sam's Bogus Detour.
Overview[]
There are 2 types of ranks; silver and gold.
The silver rank gives the player a slight amount of experience when picked up. These sometimes appear in several levels and are dropped by certain enemies, such as Towers and Orc Captains. There is another variant of the silver rank which gives a lower amount of experience.
The gold rank gives the player a greater amount of experience.
Occurrence[]
Ranks appear quite often throughout the game, though they are never plentiful. Silver ranks occur more frequently than gold ranks. Gold ranks are very rare and are never dropped from any enemies. They occasionally appear in locked rooms that require the use of a keycard.
The small variant of the silver rank is much rarer than the normal variant, and replaces Stars when playing on the Boguelike mode.
Tactics[]
- Ranks can be very useful to the player, as even a single silver rank is enough for leveling up more quickly. Therefore the player should collect any ranks if they want to level up faster.
