"Public Library No:1" is the second level of Serious Sam's Bogus Detour.

Plot

Upon entering the city of Alexandria, a large city bordering the Mediterranean Sea, Sam needs to find one of Mental's commanders, Major Slick Stinger, who is leading Mental's forces in northern Egypt and has taken up residence inside the Great Library. Sam needs to unlock the doors barring entrance to the library and make his way inside.

• Description

The city of Alexandria is a huge city that borders the Mediterranean Sea and houses the giant Great Library as well as their impressive lighthouse.

From what I've learned, Mental has one of his commanders stationed in the city. His name is Major Stinger, who is leading the alien forces here in Northern Egypt and has taken up residence inside the library. You should head there and try to reason with him.

Secrets

• After getting the red keycard, return to the Orc base containing the ooze traces that requires a blue keycard to unlock. Open the red door in the bottom-left corner and shoot all the ooze barrels until you've cleared a path to the glowing light visible in the very bottom of the room. Go here to be teleported to the other side of the level and you will find yourself in another base. From the position where you arrived in the structure, shoot the breakable wall south of you, then follow the passage all the way to the end to find a star. Collect it to trigger the secret.
• Once inside the library, go to the west side of the building and you will find a breakable hieroglyphic symbol resembling a falcon hidden behind some crates. Shoot it and follow the secret passage to the end to find a secret star.

Trivia

• In the south-west corner of the map, if the player navigates to a slightly hidden path between the buildings to get there, they can find Duke Nukem and his bike. Getting there unlocks the "Duke Nukem" achievement.
