The Psychotropic Grenade is a throwable gadget introduced in Serious Sam 4.
Overview[]
The psychotropic grenade is a nerve agent that releases noxious gas upon being thrown. This gas cloud covers a wide area, but will disperse relatively quickly afterwards. The unique psychotropic agent dispersed by these grenades causes hostiles to become aggressive towards one another, leading to infighting.[1]
While its effect on humans is less severe, exposure to it should be avoided, as it will slowly deplete the player's health should they be anywhere near the gas.

Psychotropics grenades are fairly common gadgets. Three of them are given to the player by Dr. Vermetti upon completing the side quest, 'Worm's Armageddon' in the level "When in Rome". Later in the game, it is sometimes found in secrets like other gadgets.
After completing the level "Anathema Unto God", any grenades the player had on them will be removed from their inventory, and can no longer be acquired throughout the remainder of the game.
Tactics[]
- The grenade can be a useful asset, depending on the situation the player is in.
- These grenades are best suited if the player is being overwhelmed by large masses of enemies or is low on other gadgets.
- The player should avoid being anywhere near the gas when using the grenades.

Trivia[]
- The psychotropic grenade, along with the Holodecoy, are the only gadgets that does not appear in Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. It does, however, still exist in the game files. With the editor, it can be placed into custom maps and be made usable.
