A plasma generator is a massive and extremely powerful machine designed with the express purpose of powering up the Time-Lock, a device of unknown origin that is capable of sending someone back in time. Two of these generators are known to exist, and serve a pivotal purpose in Serious Sam 3: BFE.

Overview

The plasma generator is a massive structure that is pyramidal in shape, much like the Great Pyramid of Giza. They are powered by plasma, one of the four fundamental states of matter. Given the fact that these machines are powered by such an extreme and unstable form of matter, they are extremely powerful, and thus are capable of generating power on a gargantuan scale. Only two of these generators are known to exist; the Anubis Generator and Horus Generator, the two of which are located underneath Karnak and Luxor, respectively. The Horus generator is colored blue, while its sister generator, Anubis, is orange.

History

Several thousand years ago, during the height of the Egyptian Empire, the Sirians, a highly advanced extraterrestrial race, visited Earth during their interstellar travels. Upon their arrvial in Egypt, the Sirians began making contact with the Egyptian people. During this time, they were treated like gods. Using this to their advantage, the Sirians had the Egyptians begin massive building projects all over Egypt. Meanwhile, the Sirians themselves constructed their own devices underground, including the plasma generators. Two of them were built; the Horus and the Anubis generators. Both of which lied deep underground, beneath their respective shrines in Karnak and Luxor.

Activation

For someone to activate the generators, they need to have the 'Arrow' bracelet in their possession. Once they have acquired it, they have to acquire four seals located in several temples near the excavation site of the respective generator to open the door that leads to it. Once inside the generator room, the user needs to wave the Mutilator bracelet above a computer interface to activate the generator.

Serious Sam 3: BFE

Sam activates the first generator, Horus.

Quinn informs Sam that the data HQ deciphered from inside the Great Pyramid's secret chamber reveals two massive generators located under Karnak and Luxor. He is ordered to exit the pyramid and wait outside for extraction. After clearing the area, Hellfire greets Sam in her helicopter and escorts to Karnak, the location of the first generator. Sam fights his way through the temple complex and is able to activate the Anubis generator after acquiring the four seals needed to open the door.

With the activation of Anubis, Sam proceeds to Luxor, and repeats the same process to unlocking the door to the previous generator. He is successful in activating Horus, the second generator, and the Time-Lock comes online. Sam is congraluted by Quinn, who tells him that Charlie Team are now ready for insertion.

Trivia

• The generators do not appear in Serious Sam: The First Encounter, though this could be due to the game taking place in a different time period.
