Natasha Maksimova was a member of Ledov's Squad and one of many Russian partisans who fought for Earth during the Tunguska Offensive. She is introduced as a major supporting character in Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.

Biography[]

Not very much is known about Natasha's life. Before the Mental War, she was an ardent admirer of Igor Ledov's musical endeavours and a prominent member of his fan club. When Ledov announced the formation of his partisan detachment, she was the first to join, and she soon rose to becoming an essential member of the squad and a trusted confidante.[1]

At some point, Ledov's Squad managed to sabotage an Octanian Harvester Leviathan, and rescued Ivan Pakhomov, among many others, who were doomed to become processed had they not been rescued in time.[2] Ivan soon joined the ranks, serving as Ledov's second in command and one of Natasha's comrades. Soon after, a strange man called Vlad arrived with a bag full of weapons and prompted himself to join Ledov's Squad.[3] He was accepted into the group, and the squad was established and became one the best known partisan squads in Russia.[4]

Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem[]

Ledov introduces Natasha along with the rest of his squad to Sam upon his arrival at the village of Kalinovka. Natasha, along with Ledov, Ivan, and Vlad, guide Sam towards the trainyard, where they need to find a locomotive to use to get to the town of Ustinov.[5] Sam and Ledov's Squad encounter heavy resistance from Mental's forces and the Octanians, but this does not deter them. As they push for the trainyard, Ledov instructs Natasha and Vlad to secure the locomotive for which they will need for depart. Natasha does not hesistate and takes Vlad in tow to assist her with securing one.

Meanwhile, Sam, Ledov and Ivan make it to the trainyard. Sam assists Natasha and the rest by clearing the area of Mental's forces and helping the squad by moving some containers out of the way with a crane.[5] Soon, however, more enemy reinforcements arrive. Sam is able to kill them all, which impresses Natasha and the rest of the squad. With the train boarding for Ustinov, Sam and the squad share some vodka and spend some quality time to getting to know one another.[6]

Eventually, Natasha and the squad get to Ustinov, which is currently being occupied by the alien armies. Ledov and the squad push their way to the town in order to get Sam to Tunguska and to halt enemy movement in the area. Eventually, the Octanian Harvester Leviathan operating in the area begins deploying Octanian Raiders in response to the partisans advancing on the town. The raiders begin bombing the town, and eventually Natasha and Sam are separated in the ensuing chaos. After Howard Brand suddenly appears and kills Ivan, this enrages Ledov, who begins tracking down Brand to the dam, with Natasha and Vlad in tow. Natasha vows to get revenge and personally avenge Ivan. She proceeds to the dam along with Ledov and Vlad, in the hopes they can bring Brand down.

Eventually, Natasha and Vlad are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of Mental's forces. Without help from Sam, Natasha ends up spending the last of her energy and is killed in a valiant attempt to drive back the enemy forces.[6]

Relationships[]

Igor Ledov[]

Natasha greatly admired Ledov and was extremely loyal to him. She used to be a member of his fan club before she willingly joined his partisan squad. According to NETRICSA, Natasha was willing to follow Ledov to "Hell itself" if necessary.[1] Natasha credits Ledov's albums with giving her the strength to keep fighting for humanity, though she would not defend his brief, doomed foray into nu-metal.

Sam Stone[]

She respected Stone and thought he was a great fighter and formidable opponent against Mental's forces. She expected him to be "taller and more buff" than when she met him.[5]

Ivan Pakhomov[]

Ivan was one of Natasha's comrades and she respected him. They would fight alongside and defend one another from Mental's Horde. She would get annoyed with him due to his stubborness, which was an "irritating" personality trait of his.[2]

Vlad Sorokin[]

One of Natasha's comrades and friends. They would fight alongside each other on the battlefield, and carry out Ledov's orders without question or hesitation.

Personality and skills[]

Natasha was reckless, energetic and extremely brave. She would fight for humanity with great passion and would help out anyone in need. Natasha would fight alongside her comrades in combat and would go anywhere Ledov and the rest of the squad went. She was willing to do anything for Ledov, even if it meant risking her life.[6]

Appearance[]

Natasha was a young Russian woman in her early twenties with a slim build. She had dark brown hair tied up in a ponytail and bright blue eyes. She wore a red woolly jumper, black combat pants with knee pads and brown boots. On her left arm, she wore a black armband with Ledov's Squad's insignia on it.

She wielded the 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun in combat.

Trivia[]

  • Like the rest of the campaign characters, she can be chosen as a player model in the multiplayer settings.
