The Mummy is an enemy that appears in I Hate Running Backwards.
Overview[]
Mummies are undead creatures that have been raised from the dead for the sole purpose of helping Ugh-Zan.
Appearances[]
The Mummy is one of the first enemies the player will encounter. They are fairly common enemies in the game, and are first encountered in A King's Tail, the first stage of the game.
Behavior and skills[]
When the Mummy's spots the target, it will begin to constantly chase them. When in range, the Mummy will attack them with a rapid sand spit attack. The range of this attack is denoted on the ground with an Egyptian ankh icon. The attack is sometimes difficult to dodge.
Like most other enemies in the game, Mummies have upgraded variants that have a small chance of appearing, which are faster and stronger than the normal ones. At its Maxed Out tier, the Mummy can't be damaged with the melee attack. It will simply unwrap itself to avoid the attack and continue seeking out the player.
Tactics[]
- The Mummy's attack is sometimes difficult to dodge, so the strategy for dealing with Mummies should always be to attack at range.
- The Velcro Gun or the Double-Barreled Shotgun are effective weapons to use against the Mummy, due to the high damage they can deal to it.
Trivia[]
- The Mummy is likely based on the Space Mummy, an enemy that appears in Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope, Serious Sam 4 and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.
