The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, or just Temple of Hatshepsut, was an ancient Egyptian temple located in Upper Egypt, where it lied beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings.
Overview
The Temple of Hatshepsut was a mortuary temple dedicated to the female ruler Hatshepsut during the Eighteenth Dynasty. It was situated next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II.
The Hatshesput temple also served as the designated location for where the Time-Lock would send someone back to upon its activation. It could be found in front of the temple's entrance.
Appearances
Serious Sam: The First Encounter
This temple is where Serious Sam arrives after entering the Time-Lock during the events of Serious Sam 3, just seconds before the Earth is destroyed by its moon.
Upon arriving at the temple, Sam has to the four elements of air, water, fire and earth, for which he will need to gain access to the city of Thebes. Luckily for him, the first element he is looking for is inside the temple.
Serious Sam 3: BFE
The temple does not have much of a role in the game's campaign compared to Serious Sam: The First Encounter. In the game, it is shown that the Time-Lock is located in approximately the same spot as the Time-Lock in The First Encounter.
Trivia
- In Serious Sam: Xbox, the temple has trees, but not in the classic, HD or VR versions.
