The Mini-Nuke is a weapon and gadget featured in Serious Sam 4 and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. It is the most powerful weapon in the game, alongside the FRPCL.

Overview

The mini-nuke is a surface-to-surface missile packed with an extremely powerful warhead. While originally designed to be used against large alien hostiles in earlier stages of the Mental War, it is equally effective against groups of enemies. Like some other gadgets, the mini-nuke features a NETRICSA-compatible holographic targeting system.

When fired, the warhead will fly off into the air and then collide with the ground, detonating in a massive explosion, and instantly killing any weak enemies and/or severely damaging tougher ones within its range. The explosion lingers for several seconds, killing further enemies that spawn inside or run into its range. It has no effect on the player or NPCs.

Appearances

The mini-nuke is the rarest gadget in the game, with only two appearing throughout the whole Serious Sam 4 campaign, and once in the Siberian Mayhem campaign.

Serious Sam 4

It is first acquired by the player in "Morituri Te Salutant" if they choose to complete the 'Cocked, Locked and Handcocked' optional side objective, and it can be obtained a second time in "Anathema Unto God'" after completing the 'What The Hellfire' side objective.

Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem

The mini-nuke appears exclusively as a secret, in "Crime And Punishment". To find it, the player needs to simply head to the locked gate to the left of the elevator (where the Octanian Gamma Trooper drops down) and then turn right into a small cave, where they find a hidden room with several Common Aludran Reptiloids in it along with the mini-nuke.

Tactics

• Considering its rarity, the mini-nuke should only be used as an absolute last-resort.
• It is most effective for clearing the area of hordes of weak enemies or groups of tough enemies clustered together. The player should lure in as many enemies as possible into its blast radius to ensure maximum efficiency.

Trivia

• The mini-nuke functions just like the Serious Bomb, albeit belng a lot rarer.
• The mini-nuke has a longer preparing animation than any other gadget or weapon. This is likely due to the weapon's size and weight.
• The weapon's design is similar to that to and likely based on the Saab Bofors Dynamics NLAW, a Swedish-developed disposable anti-tank missile launcher.
• The mini-nuke has the Serious Sam logo on it. This can be noticeably seen on its viewmodel.
