Medium Armor (Blue Vest in Serious Sam: Double D) is a reccuring pickup item that appears in the Serious Sam series.

Overview[]

Medium armor is an item that gives the player 25-50 armor points when picked up, depending on the game that is being played. Like other types of armor, it will not exceed beyond the 100 armor points cap.

Appearances[]

Medium armor is most often found throughout the series as a common pickup item so that the player will have enough armor to endure small to medium fights. Occasionally, medium armor may be booby trapped, so the player should be careful when picking up one that's far away or in a suspicious location.

A few medium armors can be found in secrets, but are always found among other items, like ammo. Medium armor gives away too little armor points to be in a secret by itself.

Behind the scenes[]

  • Medium armor had two different models before the final release of Serious Sam: The First Encounter. In the Alpha version, it was a red shield with white checkerboards that had a gold lion coat of arms in front of it. Back then, it was labelled as small armor. In Test 1, medium armor was a harness with silver stripes on it.

Trivia[]

  • Medium armor's design varies between games:
    • In most games, medium armor is a harness with yellow stripes on it.
    • In Serious Sam 2 and Serious Sam's Bogus Detour, it is a yellow chest plate with blue markings.
    • In Serious Sam Advance, it is a silver harness that bears a similar apperance to the model from Test 1.
    • In Serious Sam: Double D, it is a green vest.
    • In Serious Sam 3: BFE, it is a bulletproof vest with a desert camoflage pattern.
    • In Serious Sam 4 and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, it is a tactical vest with a tan coloration with additional armor plates inside the pouches.
