The magic missile launcher is the main weapon used by Beheaded Firecrackers and Beheaded Rocketeers in the Serious Sam series.

Overview

The magic missile launcher is a small low-power handheld weapon. It is wielded by Beheaded Firecrackers and Beheaded Rocketeers, who use the launcher as their primary method of attack. The missiles fired from the launcher are very weak; they are slow and take time to reach their target, making them very easy to avoid.

Like the chainguns wielded by Arachnoids, the magic missile launcher is equipped with a techno-magical ammunition replenisher, giving the weapon infinite ammo, though it still has to be reloaded with each shot.

Firecrackers use a different variant of the magic missile launcher, and will shoot a spread of five magic missiles from its weapon, that will spread along the floor/ground in a diagonal fashion (the center projectile shooting straight). These missiles can slide along walls and other tall obstacles if they connect at a low angle.

In Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope, the Rocketeer's magic missile launcher takes on an appearance similar to that of a pistol, and has to reloaded manually after being fired, giving it a very slow fire rate.

Tactics

• The projectiles fired from this weapon are very easy to avoid, as they are slow. Simply strafing in one direction or jumping over them makes it impossible for them to hit the player.
• In I Hate Running Backwards, the projectiles can be deflected, though this can prove difficult when Rocketeers show up in large numbers.
