The Legionnaire Ant is an enemy that appears in Serious Sam: Next Encounter.
Overview[]
Impressed with both the strict hierarchical order of ants and the regimented formations of Ancient Roman armies, Mental combined the two to produce an army of undyingly loyal foot soldiers. The result is the humanoid ant Legionnaire who will fight in various tactical formations until their leader is lost.
Appearances[]
The Legionnaire Ant only appears in the Rome levels, where they often appear in groups and serve as a distraction while the player fights other enemies. They often appear alongside other weak enemies like Beheaded Soldiers and Dum-Dums.
Behavior and skills[]
Its only attack is to throw energy spears at the player. The Legionarrie Ant also can use its shield to protect itself from attacks, although it does not attack while protecting itself.
Tactics[]
- Small groups of Legionnaire Ants can be quickly dispatched with the Shofield Desert Hawk.
- Due to their low health, medium to large groups of Legionnaire Ants can be taken out easily with the Shofield Uzi Pistols.
- When they are encountered with other enemies, Legionnaire Ants don't possess much of a threat, as their attacks can be easily avoided and they can be easily killed.
