- For the different enemy in Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, see Knight (SS:SM).
The Knight is an enemy that appears in I Hate Running Backwards. They are first encountered in Specific Rim.
Overview[]
Knights are enemies with a large shield covering most of their body. They use their shields to try and push the player of the edge of the map. These shields are also used to block the player's attacks.
Appearances[]
Knights are first encountered in Specific Rim. On the first loop, there can be a maximum of 3 Knights at any given time. This increases with each loop, so by the third loop, the player can expect to see up to 5 Knights on screen at once.
Behavior and skills[]
Knights don't confront the player directly like most enemies. Instead, they will charge at the player and use a leap attack which damages the player and pushes them backwards. After the leap, Knights will circle back around to face the player and resume their charge attacks.
With each tier upgrade, Knights gain more health and deal more damage.
Tactics[]
- Despite their low health, Knights can become troublesome enemies and can move quite fast. To top it off, their shields are also able to take a lot of beating.
- When dealing with groups of Knights, try to avoid staying around the ledges as much as possible, as they can push the player off and end in a run prematurely if they're not paying enough attention.
- The best weapons to counter a Knight's shield are weapons that fire projectiles in an arc pattern. Examples are the Shock Blaster and Rambro's Bro Bomb, both of which are incredibly useful against a group of Knights close together.
- The Disintegrator can cut through the Knight's shield very quickly, making it a useful weapon against them.
