Jones is a soldier in the Earth Defense Force who serves as a member of Alpha Team. He appears as a minor character in Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam 3 VR: BFE. He is not to confused with his brother, Thomas Jones, who appears as a major character in Serious Sam 4.

Biography

Jones was born sometime before his younger brother Tom. During the Mental War, he enlisted in the Earth Defense Force and met up with Hellfire, Rodriguez, and Sam.

Serious Sam 3: BFE

Jones, along with two unidentified EDF soldiers, Rodriguez and Sam, are sent to rescue professor Hermann Stein from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo after his security detail, Bravo Team, lose contact with HQ. Jones is skeptical that science can be used to defeat the aliens, and would rather use big guns.

When Alpha Team's helicopter gets shot down, Sam is chucked out of the helicopter (due to him not wearing a seatbelt), but Jones and Rodriguez survive the crash and fend off against Mental's Horde as long as they can. Jones calls Sam on Rodriguez's comm-link, but he is cut short after a Beheaded Kamikaze explodes into him, killing him.

Jones and Sam got along to a degree, though Jones disapproved of Sam's approach to handling the situation at the museum, saying that he would rather kill aliens than bother with research.

Dwayne Rodriguez

Not much is known about him and Rodriguez, though it can be assured they got on with each other. He covered for Rodriguez when he was busy fighting off Mental's forces after their helicopter crashed.

Personality and skills

Jones has a rather skeptical personality. He didn't believe in Professor Stein's apparent information and research to help power the Time-Lock to aid in killing Mental in the past, and opted for a more head-to-head approach to fighting the alien threat.

Appearance

He is a young African-American man with shaved black hair and is presumed to be in his late twenties or early thirties. He wears the standard EDF military outfit. Like other characters in Serious Sam 3: BFE, he wears shades.

Trivia

• Jones, along with Hellfire and Rodriguez, can be selected as a player model in Serious Sam 3 co-op. If the player bought Serious Sam Fusion, he also can be played in Serious Sam HD and Serious Sam VR.
• His ghost appears as a secret in The Silent Riddler, in the hidden chamber of the Great Pyramid, where the player can also find the Devastator.
• He was one of the shortest-lived characters in the series, along with Miller and his co-pilot.
• He does not appear in Serious Sam 4, but he is mentioned by Sam after a Khnum ate Jones' brother.
