Grenades are a type of ammunition that serve as ammo for grenade launchers, but not for the RB-45 Hand Grenades that appear in Serious Sam 2.

Overview[edit | edit source]

In most games, grenades appear as a red box with a grenade or bomb symbol on it. In Serious Sam: Next Encounter, the grenade model is a square yellow box with a black grenade on it.

The amount of rounds in each box of grenades depends on the game and (in some cases) the difficulty level. In all games except for Serious Sam 2, Serious Sam: Double D and Serious Sam: Double D: XXL, each box gives out 5 rounds (10 on Tourist, Easy and Serious difficulties in Serious Sam 1, Serious Sam: Xbox, Serious Sam HD, Serious Sam VR and Serious Sam Classics: Revolution), while in Serious Sam 2, grenades give the player 10 rounds per box.

Occurrence[edit | edit source]

Grenades are fairly frequent throughout the games, though they are not as common as rockets. They mostly appear before a big fight or in "break" rooms to give the player enough ammo to resupply after a fight. Grenades usually appear along with their respective weapon as well.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

  • In Test 1, the grenade's model can be found in the game's files, but cannot be picked up. It uses the same model, but the box is wood brown and there are four oval shapes on it. The grenades were used for the scrapped Pipebomb as it also might have been supposed to be in the other level for testing. But the files are cut or locked because they had cut the level from Test 1 few months before the release.
