The Beetle is an enemy that appears in Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope. They are spawned by the Swamp Hive during the boss fight.

Overview

The Beetle is a small flying creature with orange wings.

Appearances

Beetles are created by the Swamp Hive in the battle against it.

Behavior and skills

The Beetle's only attack is to charge at the player and explode upon impact with them.

Tactics

• Rapid-firing weapons like the M29 Infantry Assault Rifle and Thompson submachine gun are effective weapons to use against Beetles.
• The Beetles can be avoided by using the Shield without losing too much health.

Behind the scenes

• The Beetle can be found in Serious Sam 4s game files, but it isn't encountered in the game. It would have either returned as one of the Swamp Hive's attacks, or is a leftover from The Last Hope.

Trivia

• Similarly to the Biopods, Beetles are counted as projectiles instead of actual enemies.
• The Beetle is very similar to the ZumZum Jr. from Serious Sam 2, as both are flying suicidal insects spawned by the boss of a swamp planet.
