A Figment is an item and feature introduced Serious Sam: Tormental. They are used as the game's main form of currency.
Overview[]
Figments are small pieces of Mental's imagination that exist inside his mind. They appear as yellow coins that the player can pick up. The number of figments collected are shown on the left side of the screen. They are very common and are usually dropped by killing enemies, though they can also be found in props, in Mental chests, or in the "break" rooms before the next part of a dungeon. Figments will eventually disappear after a short period of time if the player does not pick them up.
Small enemies drop 4 figments per kill, while large enemies like Cerebulls drop 16. Obtaining 50 figment combo allows the player to receive 5 figments, 100 figment combo gives you 15 figments, 200 figments gives you 50, 250 figments give you 75, 500 and more figments will give you half of your figment combo, when you also get higher combo's you need to get figments in faster succession. The player can also obtain figments by purchasing 25 of them with a key.
When the player is playing as Sparky (a skin for Bad Bulb), his health will deplete when using his primary attack, but collecting figments can help regain it.
Functionality[]
Like keys, figments are used for purchasing power-ups such as atomic skin or buddies. They can also allow the player to gamble on the gamble machines.

Figments are very common objects found throughout the levels set within Mental's mind. They are obtained by killing enemies and occasionally from props or destroyed obstacles.
