The Earth Giant is the final boss of Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope, serving as the boss of the final stage Arcadia Minor. It serves as a major antagonist in the game.

Overview

The Earth Giant is a large elemental monster that is made out of multiple large rocks. Its body glows green, and it has a large amount of grass on its left arm. As the Earth Giant lacks legs, it moves by crawling with its right arm.

Appearances

The Earth Giant is fought as a boss in the final level of the game, The Final Breath. It rises from the ground after most of the normal enemies have been killed.

Behavior and skills

The Earth Giant has three attacks. As soon as it appears, it will cycle through throwing rocks at the player and firing projectiles from its mouth, both of which can deal a high amount of damage. After doing both of these attacks, it crawls to get to closer to the player and repeats its attacks until it gets in melee range. During the fight, hordes of weak enemies like small Rollerballs and Gnaars constantly spawn to distract the player from fighting it.

If the Earth Giant is not killed quickly and comes within close range of the player, it will crush them with its right hand, which kills them instantly, even if the player activates god mode via cheats. This is because the Earth Giant's melee attack is a scripted player death event, in the same manner as the Giant Space Mummy.

When the Earth Giant is killed, its left arm will break and its body will split in half.

Tactics

• The Earth Giant's projectiles can be avoided by shooting them.
• The A-24 Devastator, SBC Cannon and XPML21 Rocket Launcher are effective and strong weapons against the Earth Giant, as they can deal a large amount of damage to it.
• A useful strategy is to use a Serious Damage power-up (if the player has one) and the weapons mentioned above. This way, the player can easily kill the Earth Giant as soon as it appears.
