Crime And Punishment is the fifth and the final level of Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.

Plot[]

Sam, Ledov and his squad arrive in Ustinov, which is currently being occupied by Mental's forces and Octanian troops. Sam and the crew must push their way through town, towards the dam, and get into some boats, which get Sam to Tunguska more qucikly. However, a foe previously thought to be dead appears, forcing Sam to make a difficult choice.

  1. Near the SBC Cannon on the large open field before the big battle.

Changes in New Game+[]

  • An Octanian Sentry Tower now appears on top of a hill opposite the park.
  • The XL2 Lasergun's death ray upgrade is now found in the same area where the player gets the SBC Cannon.

Secrets[]

  1. At the front of the train station with the statue outside, turn right and behind a wall, there is a secret depot containing a L.I.F.E. gadget and some Burner ammo. Picking it up will spawn some enemies.
  2. At the opposite direction of #1, there is rocket ammo behind a wall. Picking the ammo up will cause three Major Bio-mechanoids to spawn.
  3. Inside the building, (where the XM214-A Minigun is located) turn left and to the back, there is a door open. In there, there are several bathroom stalls which contains a hidden ammo depot containing some cannonballs.
  4. Outside the building, turn left and go past the train station. Go around the building next to it and you'll see an abandoned truck. Go around the truck to find a Hoverboard Scooter.
  5. Onwards, there is a fence covered in blue tarp. To the right of the fence, there is a door that can be opened. Opening the door reveals a "relaxing" Minor Bio-mechanoid that contains some health, armor and ammo.
  6. Inside the park, turn right until you see an ammo depot by the gate. Be warned that picking up the ammo will trigger an ambush.
  7. At the gas station, climb on top of the fence and the fuel tank and jump to the top of the gas station. On the roof is a hoverboard.
  8. At the front of the bridge, (before entering) turn right and you'll see an ammo stash and a L.I.F.E. gadget. Picking them up spawns a Beheaded Kamikaze trap. Killing all the Kamikazes spawns a giant Kamikaze that has more health than the normal ones.
  9. After dropping down the bridge, behind are pillars holding up the bridge. Behind one of them contains a Time Warp gadget.
  10. After the Major Bio-mechanoid destroys the icy road, climb up to the bridge that is on the front and turn right until you see a truck blocking the path. To the left of the truck contains a T.A.C.T. gadget.
  11. Across the bridge that was destroyed, turn left and in the far right corner, there is a tiny, hidden Extra Small Health pill. Picking up the pill triggers a "secret trap" and spawnse a Major Bio-mechanoid behind you.
  12. To the left of the elevator that came down, head to the locked gate and turn right into a small cave. Inside the cave contains a hidden room with three Reptiloids and a Mini-Nuke. Killing the Reptiloids will prevent their "secret" plan.
  13. Back on the ice, turn right to the river and there are several Scythian Witch-Harpies guarding a hoverboard. Be prepared for a fight involving Harpies, Kamikazes, and Minor Bio-mechanoids after picking up the hoverboard.
  14. After picking up the cannon (and XL2 Laser's death ray upgrade in New Game+), keep following the road to the right and you'll find a Rage Serum.
  15. After the big arena fight and heading into the locked gate, there are a couple of buildings in the central area with a fence in the middle. In the middle, there is an opened door. Inside to the right, there are wooden planks blocking an entrance. Destroying these planks will reveal a secret ladder that leads down to a teleporter. Entering the teleporter will take you to a secret "classic" area that is derived from the final area of "The Citadel" from Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. The room where Sam picks up the Book of Wisdom now has several items, including a Super Armor.

Trivia[]

  • The title of this level is a reference to the Russian novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
  • In the same manner as the Serious Sam 4 final level "From Earth With Love", this level is a final level that features proper "peace" and "fight" music tracks rather than a single continuous track as the main music theme.
    • Unlike other final levels in the series, this level does not even use a continuous track throughout any part of the level (excluding the final boss fight).
  • At secret #12, inside the secret room, the player can find leaked images of Carter.
  • At one point in the level, a Food Infernal book by the author Chief Taggrat can be found on the ground, which is a reference to the 2020 id Software game DOOM Eternal. This is yet another addition to the line of references to the Doom series.
    • Chief Taggrat is a reference to Flynn Taggart, the narrator and main protagonist of the Doom novels.
  • Sometimes, the warehouse with the generator will trigger a softlock where the prompt to activate the generator will no longer appear, thus blocking the player from completing the rest of the level without using cheats. This is more likely to happen after the player's first playthrough and can happen on both the regular and moddable versions of the game.
