The Bombhead is an enemy that appears in Serious Sam: Tormental.

Overview

The Bombhead is a black creature with one eye showing an angry expression. The creature has a fuse on top of its head, which is lit once a target comes within close proximity to it. There are two types of Bombheads encountered in the game, Bombhead As and Bombhead Bs. The latter are much more common than Bombhead As.

The Bombhead schema might have been one of Mental's very first deadly ideas after he went mad, and he has been iterating on it for over a thousand years. Its real world realization is the fearsome Beheaded Kamikaze.

Appearances

Serious Sam: Tormental

Bombheads are quite rare enemies, but can be numerous when they appear. Bombhead Bs are more common and spawn in groups in the boss fight with the Cerebulls at the end of "Mental Woods". The normal Bombheads are much rarer and have a chance to appear in the totem rooms.

Behavior and skills

The Bombhead behaves similar to the Kamikaze; its only attack is to charge into the player and explode. Bombheads emit a noticeable scream when they charge towards the player. Kiling a Bombhead will make it explode, which can cause a chain reaction when they are paired together, dealing high damage to anything that gets caught in its blast radius.

The Bombheads that appear during the Deja Bull boss fight explode quicker than their normal variants.

Tactics

• Bombheads are very dangerous if left unchecked. They should be killed as soon as they spawn.
• They are very weak and easy to kill, only requiring a few shots from the Gun to eliminate.
• Whack Bombheads away with the Sledgehammer when they get too close; this will help keep their distance and minimize damage taken from the explosion.
• During the fight with the Cerebulls, take out the Bombheads first to reduce the chances of taking damage from their explosions.
• Like Kamikazes, group Bombheads together and get one of them to explode to kill all the nearby Bombheads.
