"Anathema Unto God" is the thirteenth level of Serious Sam 4.
Plot[]
Sam meets up with Carter and Father Mikhail, and shortly after, Rodriguez and Hellfire. With the Triple-A team reassembled once again, they must now proceed deeper into the castle to find the basilica and reach their main objective and grand prize, the Holy Grail. However, trouble looms when a familiar face pays Sam and his friends a visit and someone else also desires the Grail.

You've almost reached the cathedral. Find Hellfire and Rodriguez, wipe out Mental's forces, and claim the Holy Grail. And if Lord Achriman shows up... make him pay.
Side objectives[]
"Lock and Key"[]
Before going through this locked gate, on the shack to the right is a note and a set of keys. Interact with it to trigger the side objective. Follow the waypoint marker to the warehouse to find a supply depot with some ammo, armor, health and two Time Warps.
"What the Hellfire"[]
When Sam meets up with Hellfire, she will lead him to the location of the second side objective, where the player can stack up on some supplies. Go to the convoy of Humvees which contains a crate. Open up the crate to obtain a Mini-Nuke. Be prepared to fight a lot of tough enemies before reaching the convoy.
S.A.M. locations[]
- There are no S.A.M. eggs in this level.
Secrets[]
- At the beginning of the level, turn around and go to the end of the street. Then, search the bushes under the stairs to get a H.E.A.R.T. gadget.
- In the alley, there is a Hacked Drone on the roof of a house. To reach it, climb on the palettes, turn around and jump on the lamp and then the ventilation unit to get the gadget.
- Use the white car to reach the wall, then jump on the lamp post. Sprint-jump across then ventilation unit to reach the L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Get on a car to reach the cemetery, then jump over the gap and go down the steps to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Still in the cemetery, you'll come across the ruins of a building. Jump across the gap to the ruins and jump on the walls to reach the top of the ruins where there is a Time Warp gadget.
- To the left of the stairs leading to the cemetery is a L.I.F.E. gadget on a crate.
- Climb on the white car to reach the low wall and search behind the boxes to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Opposite to #7, use the dumpster to go behind the wall to get a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Before passing the gate, take the street on the left and jump on the red car to pass behind the wall to find three C-4 Demolition Charges.
- Jump over the wall with a gargoyle on it to find a H.E.A.R.T. gadget.
- If you choose the first side quest, follow the blue waypoint until you reach a village. Jump on the roof of the house on the right. There is a hacked drone behind the house.
- In the same area, go to the left and climb the wall, then jump onto the roof into a garden where you can find 3 C-4 charges.
- In the area where you find the cannon, go to the left and climb the ruined tower to find a L.I.F.E. gadget on top of it.
- Close to the previous secret, climb on the low wall with sandbags on the left and jump on the gargoyle statue. Walk along the ramparts to get a Psychotropic Grenade.
- To the right of the bridge with the force field is a L.I.F.E. gadget on top of a small ruin.
- Past the yard in the next area, there is a H.E.A.R.T. gadget behind a bush on the right.
- After the cutscene with Hellfire, go up the steps nearby. Then reach the ramparts to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Go back to the previous steps, and enter through the tower window to find a Rage Serum.
- Follow the second side quest path, cross the alley on the right and shoot the lantern to spawn a Companion Orb.
- Jump on the the wall in front of the previous secret and reach the ventilation unit to get a Holodecoy.
- Climb the crate with the audio log in front of the previous alley and jump over the wall to find an ammo depot containing some cannonballs.
- Walk up the alley to the second side objective, get on the blue car and jump over the wall to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Still in the area of the second side objective, go over the wall to find an ammo depot.
- In front of the previous secret, climb on the sandbags and go to the other side of the wall to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Close to the previous secret, go up on the display panel where there is a L.I.F.E. gadget.
- Follow the main objective until you reach a large area. Reach the stone staircase to find a L.I.F.E. gadget.

Trivia[]
- This level is the second level in the Serious Sam series to have the most secrets in it.
- The name of the level is a reference to a quote said by Father Mikhail regarding the Holy Grail.[1]
- The name of the first side quest, "Lock and Key", is a shortened version of *the phrase "under lock and key".
- The name of the second side quest, "What the Hellfire" is a play on the commonly said phrase "what the hell?".
- It could also be a reference to the song by Avril Lavigne.
