The Alien Artifact Acquisition Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) is a vehicle made and used specifically for the Alien Artifact Acquisition team.[1] It serves as a convenient mode of ground transport for the latter.
Overview[]
The SUV is a 4x4 vehicle and one of the Alien Artifact Acquisition's main mode of transportation on the ground aside from Humvees. It is used for carrying high-ranking personnel and alien artifacts for long-distance travel.[1][2] The SUV is lightly armored and lacks any defensive capabilities or weaponry, thus the Triple-A often travel in a convoy, with Humvees armed with M2 Browning machine guns for protection against ground-based attacks. This tactic, however, proved ineffective against attacks from the air, especially from fast and nimble aircraft like Octanian Raiders.[1]
Appearances[]
Serious Sam 4[]

A convoy of Triple-A SUVs on their way to the Vatican.
A convoy consisting of several Humvees and Triple-A SUVs are seen escorting the Triple-A members and other EDF personnel on their way into Rome to rendezvous with Father Mikhail, a Russian priest who is believed to know the whereabouts of the Holy Grail.[1] One of the SUVs, including the one with Serious Sam in it, is destroyed during an attack by a few Octanian Raiders. The driver is killed, but Sam and Kenny make it out unscathed. As the convoy is in disarray, the two are forced to proceed on foot to meet up with Father Mikhail.[1]
Hellfire uses a SUV to take Sam, Kenny, Rodriguez, and Jones to the ruins of Pompeii to set up beacons in order to realign the HAARP's targeting system.[3] She waits in the car while the team split up to take part in the mission.[2] After the HAARP is activated, which forces Mount Vesuvius to erupt, Hellfire anxiously awaits the return of Sam and the team, mentioning to them that the car is "starting to melt", although it isn't clear if she is being literal or just melodramatic.[2] Once everyone, minus the now-deceased Jones, is in the car, she returns them back to base.
Trivia[]
- The SUV is modeled after a tenth generation (2007-2014) Chevrolet Suburban, albeit with its badges removed.
- The SUV features a detailed display, with options including iPod, Wi-Fi, satnav, Bluetooth, and DVD. This can be seen more clearly in the Serious Editor.
- What happened to the remnants of the convoy is unclear, but as Hellfire is seen in a bus after agreeing to meet with Sam at the Piazza della Repubblica for extraction, this indicates that either she escorted the remnants of the convoy back to the EDF headquarters and then returned to extract Sam and the rest of the Triple-A team, or the remainder of the vehicles were destroyed by further attacks from Octanian Raiders.[4]
- The SUV does not appear in Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem, but can be found in the game files.
