Alessandro was a PSD (protective services detail) (or a police officer, based on his uniform) who helped escort professor Hermann Stein while he was excavating at a dig site in Pompeii. He appears as a minor supporting character in Serious Sam 4.
Biography[]
Alessandro was employed as part of Professor Stein's security detail at some point in his life and to guard the area and to protect the professor from Mental's forces.
At some point, professor Hermann Stein visited the ruins of Pompeii to excavate an area that had caught his interest. At the dig site, he stumpled upon some Sirian artifacts, including references to the Time-Lock. These discoveries astounded Professor Stein, and told everyone there that these findings will lead to a discovery that could potentially, according to Alessandro, "change the future". Sadly, though, this moment of excitement was short-lived, as Mental's forces soon found the ruins and began taking over the area.[1]
During this time, Alessandro escorted the professor out of the dig site, but they came under siege for several hours before any help from the Earth Defense Force could arrive. Eventually, though, a helicopter came for Professor Stein, and he was safely extracted out of the ruins. Alessandro decided that, since he believed that Dr. Stein's life was more valuable than his own, he decided to draw the enemy away from the helicopter and create a diversion whilst the professor could get away safely.[1]
While Alessandro leads the enemy's attention away from the professor, he winds up badly injured from an attack. Said attack causes him to lose a lot of blood, as indicated by the trail of blood seen at Pompeii. He was able to make it to the visitor center parking lot, but he eventually succumbed to his wounds before he could receive medical aid or defend himself from the aliens.[2]

Serious Sam 4[]
While travesing through the ruins of Pompeii to find a suitable location for activating the HAARP, Sam comes across a suspicious trail of blood that leads him downhill to a large parking lot. He discovers that the area is occupied by Mental's forces. He kills all the enemy troops and soon comes across Alessandro's corpse. Sam apologizes to Alessandro for not being able to save him in time, and decides to continue fighting in his stead.[2]

There is not enough information known about him to discern his nature or skills.
Appearance[]
Alessandro was a young Italian man of slim build, and presumably in his mid twenties or early thirties. He wore a police officer's uniform which consisted of a black hat, a blue collared shirt, black pants with red vertical stripes, and black shoes.
Trivia[]
- Despite being a PSD, he wears a Italian police officer's uniform.
- He wears the exact same hat as Carter, but has a different texture and color.
- Like Carter's hat, Alessandro's bears the words "paranormal investigator".
- "Alessandro" is a given name which is the Italian form of the name Alexander. It means 'Defender of Mankind'.
- This may also refer to Alessandro defending Professor Stein and giving him enough time to escape, albeit at the cost of his own life.
- The player can select Alessandro as a player model in the multiplayer settings.
